3 Local Soda Shops

Are you a soda fan? How about a dirty soda fan? Or are you thinking what even is a dirty soda? Well let me introduce you to the sweet and delicious world of Utah dirty sodas!

Dirty sodas have no alcohol in them, which most people think they do. They are very similar to an Italian soda. It’s a soda base, you add syrups/fruits/purées and then a splash of cream. Yes it’s sweet and it’s definitely a treat. I interviewed a local soda shop owner on my podcast. She really explains the sodas well and why she brought them to Portland. You can take a listen here.

In Portland we are getting quite a few soda shops now. So I’m going to share 3 I really enjoy!

Over Ice

I believe this was our first soda shop in the area. They are located up in Battle Ground Washington, which is about 30-40 minutes north of Portland. In my opinion they are worth the drive.

Their shop is super cute and located right off the Main Street. You can order ahead and also get it delivered on DoorDash. They have unique drinks that include things like Dip N Dots and marshmallow fluff.

I really enjoy the brush prairie girl and the Dr. Dough.

Thirst Trap

Located in Battle Ground Washington as well, this is a drive thru coffee shack vibe. The owner is from Utah so she really understands how to make a dirty soda. I really enjoyed how we could quickly get a soda by going through the drive thru. And the menu has a lot of great options, like the “Emily”. I may be biased as an Emily myself - but I loved this drink! The owner said if you make a drink she likes, she will name it after you. Now I did not make the Emily drink but man Emily’s have great taste!

Fizz N Sip

Fizz N Sip is located in Portland on Killingsworth. This shop opened up less than a year ago. The owner is so sweet and really has an eye for a beautiful graphic design and unique flavors of drinks. I really enjoy the Bend, but I make it diet/sugar free.

They are getting creative with their ingredients and will even work with local brands like Portland Syrup. The owner prides herself on having good drinks that are not overly sweet. So you can understand why this has become a popular spot!

So now that I have told you about some dirty sodas in the area, does it make you want to try?
